Southwestern Regional Theme: "Following Trailblazers: Moving Forward"

Most Americans choose to forget 1929 and the significant historical memories this year
represents. However, it is an extremely important year for Sorors of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.
This year, 1929, propelled leaders, Lola Mercedes Parker and six others to create an organization
comprised of African-American women who aspired in business and who sought to be elevated.

This vision became a reality with the founding of our beloved sorority. I am extremely proud and
honored to serve as the Southwestern Regional Director, home to dedicated Members which
represent  Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. I do indeed give respect to our
"Trailblazers" those leaders who gave of their time and talent to make our esteemed sorority what
it is today.
